SPASH downs Merrill 7-1

Stevens Point– SPASH’s Jack Kelly hit a two-run double in the bottom of the first to give SPASH a lead over Merrill in Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball action on Tuesday and SPASH went on to claim a 7-1 victory.

SPASH continued to be a doubles machine with Justin Morton belting two doubles and Logan Schulfer adding another.

Meanwhile, Austin Beyer was solid on the mound for the Panthers, going four innings and striking out three while allowing four hits and one earned run.  Beyer picked up the win.

Kaleb Schulist came on for the game’s final three innings and did not allow a run.

“Both pitchers threw well and we had no errors,” said SPASH coach Kraig Terpstra.

Holden Smith was 2-3 for the Bluejays.
