Middeton– The SPASH Panthers swept a doubleheader from Middleton on Saturday, and in the process head coach Tom Drohner picked up career win 500.
Drohner’s milestone victory came in the second game, which SPASH won 3-0. In that contest, the Panthers got 6.2 innings in the circle from Kristin Richter. Richter struck out four and allowed just four hits to pick up the win.
Meanwhile, SPASH scored all three of its runs in the second inning and rolled up 10 hits.
Kayla Lass, Megan Miklesh and Leah Earnest each had two hits. Miklesh drove in two and hit a double, while Earnest tripled.
The first game saw SPASH and Middleton go into extra innings. SPASH pulled out a 6-5 victory in ten innings.
Hits were general for both teams as SPASH knocked around Middleton pitching for 16 hits and Middleton tallied 12 hits.
Leading the attack for SPASH were Sam Saloun and Jenna Eilers. Saloun was 4-6 with a double and two RBI. Eilers was 3-6 with two runs scored. Meanwhile Miklesh doubled and tripled and Lass knocked two doubles.
