Everest claims second consecutive WVC title

Wisconsin Rapids– The D.C. Everest Evergreens on the Wisconsin Valley Conference swim meet held in Wisconsin Rapids on Friday night.

Everest had a team score of 439, outdistancing second place SPASH at 314.

Marshfield finished third (193), Rapids fourth (170) and Wausau East came in fifth with 162.

Two meet records were set by D.C. Everest in the 200-yard medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay, respectively.

In the overall Valley standings, Everest had 26 points to best the conference.  SPASH came in second with 20 points.

Courtney McMurrain of Stevens Point was named the conference’s coach of the year, while Swimmers of the Year honors went to Nathan Schuenemann of Wisconsin Rapids and Drew Harris of Stevens Point.
