Schires leads area girls on WIAA 3 point Challenge Leaderboard

Madison-– The latest WIAA Girls Basketball 3 Point Challenge Leaderboard update, as of Monday, January 7th (minimum 35 three-point attempts) finds area players among the state’s best shooters from long range.

In Division 1. Maddie Schires of Wausau West is ranked #3. Madisyn Rogan(5) and Leah Earnest(9) are also in the top 10.

Division 4 finds Madison Wicks of Thorp in ninth.

Elle Leberg of Assumption is 6th in Division 5, with Melissa Perzinski of Almond-Bancroft ranked #8.

Contest Information

The WIAA will again sponsor a 3-Point Challenge as part of the Girls Basketball State Tournament. To be eligible coaches must enter player information on wissports.net in order for the players to be eligible.The top two players in each division based on shooting percentage (min. 75 attempts) will be selected to participate.

The 3-Point Challenge will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 9:30 am at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Fans can attend the event with tickets from the morning/afternoon session.
