CWS Team of the Week: January 13- 20

Wausau— Take a look at the Team of the Week candidates and vote today!

Edgar Girls Basketball– The Wildcats had a big first half, taking a 30-9 lead into the break, and held off Athens in Marawood play, 43-30.

Wausau West Girls Basketball– The Warriors improved to 6-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference,  12-3 overall, with a 62-47 win over Wisconsin Rapids.

Stratford Boys Basketball– The Tigers continue to roll, improving to 10-o in the Marawood, 13-0 overall, with a 75-37 drubbing of Abbotsford.

Phillips Boys Basketball–  The Loggers improved to 7-3 in the Marawood and 10-3 overall with a 69-36 thumping of Newman.

D.C. Everest Girls Basketball– The Evergreens trailed by seven late in the second half against Medford, but it didn’t faze the Evergreens. Using a small lineup, pressure defense from the Evergreens spurred a come from behind 52-49 win.

Marshfield Boys Basketball– The Tigers snapped the Panthers’ 41 game home winning streak. The loss gave SPASH their first WVC loss this season, and moved the Tigers to within one game of first place.

Iola- Scandinavia Boys Basketball– The Thunderbirds are 13-0 so far this season and picked up wins against Port Edwards and Menominee Indian this past week.

Merrill Boys Basketball– Merrill has had a great season so far and that trend continued last week as the Bluejays picked up wins over Mosinee and Wausau East.

Pacelli Girls Basketball– The Cardinals took control of the CWC-South with a big win over rival Rosholt by the final score of 50-47.  Pacelli is 7-0 so far in conference play.

Wisconsin Rapids Wrestling– Rapids improved to 6-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference by defeating D.C. Everest 40-27 on January 17.  With one meet left to go before conference, Rapids is in the driver’s seat.
