CWS Student-Athlete Spotlight: Abbotsford’s Joe Aguilera

Abbotsford— Abbotsford’s Joe Aguilera is one of the hardest working athletes around, and humble at that. This season Aguilera set season and career rushing marks at Abbotsford, and he was quick to praise his offensive line and teammates. Aguilera is also a skilled wrestler, and a regular at the WIAA State Track Meet, where he looks to do more damage this year.

Despite being elusive and having elite speed and incredible toughness, CWS caught up with the all-around athlete to answer our world-renowned survey, and the ultimate question everyone wants to know: is it Pancakes, or Waffles?

CWS: What classes are you taking this year?

Aguilera: Trig, Desktop Video 1, Horticulture 1.

CWS: What is your favorite class?

Aguilera: Trig.

CWS: What are your hobbies?

Aguilera: Sports. video games, and hanging with friends.

CWS: Who is/was your favorite teacher?

Aguilera: Mr. Knapmiller.

CWS: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

Aguilera: Cow tongue.

CWS: What is your favorite music to listen to?

Aguilera: Country.

CWS: What are your plans after high school?

Aguilera: Go to college and probably play football.

CWS: If they made a movie about you, and your life,  what would it be called?

Aguilera:Underrated.

CWS: What other sports do you play?

Aguilera: I wrestle and run track.

CWS: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

Aguilera: I would not want to be on an island with Chance Clement because he can’t hit anything when he hunts.

CWS: What is your most memorable moment as an athlete?

Aguilera: Most memorable moment is going to Level 4 in football, two years in a row.

CWS: Who is your favorite athlete?

Aguilera: Saquon Barkley.

CWS: What do you enjoy most about playing home games?

Aguilera: My favorite thing about home games is hearing the band.

CWS: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete at Abbotsford High School?

Aguilera: The best thing about Abbotsford is knowing everyone and being close with all of my teammates.

CWS: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Aguilera: Play your hardest all the time, because you never know when it’s going to be your last.

CWS: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?

Aguilera: Pancakes all day.
