Wisconsin Rapids– In warm and muggy conditions on Saturday, the Wisconsin Rapids boys soccer team picked up a win and a tie in the Fleck Memorial Tournament at the Washington Soccer Complex.
Rapids tied Medford 3-3 and defeated Onalaska 3-0.
Against Medford, Rapids got goals from Spencer Sparks, two from Joey TerMaat. However, despite holding a 3-1 lead at halftime and facing a nine-man Medford squad due to a plethora of red cards in the second half, the Red Raiders had to settle for a 3-3 tie as Medford found the back of the net twice subsequent to intermission.
In the second game, Jared Winters led off the scoring in the first half as Rapids took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Isaias Escalera knocked home Rapids’ second goal and Cooper Christensen accounted for Rapids’ final goal of the game.
