Also check out past nominees and winners on the CWS Featured Athlete Page.

Marshfield Football– The Tigers continue to impress as they fought off a late SPASH rally on Friday night to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Abbotsford Volleyball— The Falcons had quite a week, first picking up a Marawood win over Athens on Thursday. Abby then took the title at Saturday’s Clintonville Trucker Invite, coming back after a 1-2 record in pool play . The Falcons took down the #1, #3, and #4 seeded teams in the tournament’s bracket play to shock the tournament.

Spencer/Columbus Football– The Rockets took it to Neillsville/Granton as their juggernaut continues to roll to the midway point of the season.

Rib Lake/Prentice Football– The Hawks defeated Marathon in a low scoring affair, 6-0, and are now 3-2 overall and will host mighty Stratford in Week 6.

Greenwood Football– Geenwood pulled out a gutty 14-12 win over Athens on Friday night with over 200 yards of rushing from Wyatt Artac.  Greenwood is now 3-2 and will host Abbotsford in Week 6.

SPASH Boys Cross Country– The Panthers pulled off an impressive victory at the massive Smiley Invite in Wausau on Saturday.  SPASH easily beat out Sun Prairie to take the top spot among Division 1 schools.

D.C. Everest Boys Soccer– A 0-0 tie might not seem to qualify as a banner game for most soccer teams, but the Evergreens held off SPASH this week to earn a point and remain at the top of the Valley standings.

Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Football– Rapids has had some bumps so far this season, but their potential was displayed on Friday night as they waxed Wausau East 40-14 for their second win of the season.

Pacelli Football– You probably won’t see the Cardinals in the mix for Team of the Week honors at any other sports site, but let’s give Pacelli some recognition.  The Cardinals notched win #1 of the season on the road against a good Wittenberg-Birnamwood team as Xander Schmitz led the way.

Loyal Football— The Greyhounds had 486 yards of offense – all rushing, in their 52-16 thumping of Own-Withee.

Nekoosa Football– Nekoosa got their first win on Friday after a brutal non conference schedule. They racked up over 450 yards rushing in a 49-6 win against Westfield.

Medford Girls Cross Country– Medford won the combined D2-D3 race at the Smiley Invite for the second year in a row. They scored 68 points among 27 schools that competed in the D2- D3 race.
