Athens— One two point conversion was all either team could make, and it turned out to be the difference maker, as Greenwood downed Athens 14-12 in Cloverwood action.
Athens took a 12-6 first quarter lead, with Dayne Diethelm connecting with Jake Denzine on a 2o yard touchdown and added a one yard touchdown run himself.
The Bluejays’ scores were sandwiched around a 34 yard touchdown from Andrew Morrow, and the Bluejays held a 12-6 halftime lead.
Wyatt Artac scored on a six yard run with a little over three minutes to go in the third quarter, and his two point conversion proved to be the game-winner for Greenwood.
Artac led all rushers with 204 yards on 34 carries.
Seth Coker led Athens with 3 receptions for 92 yards, and had two punts for a total of 88 yards.
