Pittsville– Fresh off a campaign where they competed in a new conference and made it to Level 2 of the WIAA Division 7 playoffs, the Pittsville football team is poised to make another postseason and conference run.

“We graduated a large senior class with a bunch of talented players,” Pittsville coach Mark Denniston said. “There may be a sense in some areas that we may be a little down, but we have some very talented players back.”

On the first day of practice the Panthers got right to work on conditioning and learning the basics of what they will be tasked with executing as they make a run at a Central Wisconsin Conference- Small Division crown.

As with every team, there remains a lot of question marks in terms of leaders, play makers, and who will contribute where, but as the days go on and the scrimmage and first game grow near, Denniston is confident those question marks will be answered, and his squad will be where they need to be.

“I’m interested to see who shows up early on and who leads,” Denniston said. “We’ll see who took a step forward from last year.”
