Baumgartner, Ehr named to state all-tournament team

Marinette– The Plover Black Sox concluded 2018 with an appearance at the state tournament in Marinette, where they fought to a fourth place finish among eight teams.  The Sox closed out the season with a 30-16 overall record.

Sheboygan won the state title, beating out Eau Claire.

Plover had two players on the state all-tournament team: Derek Baumgartner and Brett Ehr.

Ehr was dominant on the mound against Oshkosh in state tournament play.  He tossed 6.2 innings and allowed just three hits in a 4-2 win for the Sox. In that game, Derek Baumgartner was 3-3 at the plate with a double and three RBI.

Baumgartner had one hit in Plover’s win over Marinette, and he also had a hit in a loss to Eau Claire.
