Early lead lifts Sixers to win over Plover

Stevens Point– A four-run first inning for the Stevens Point Sixers catapulted the home team to a 6-4 victory over visiting Plover on Tuesday night in a game that was live streamed right here on CentralWisconsinSports.net.

The Sixers’ big first inning was highlighted by a two-RBI hit by Isaac Perner. Perner went 2-4 on the day.

Nate Helms, Jacob Danielsen and Austin Stankowski each had two hits for the Sixers, while Justin Morton doubled and drove in two.

J.D. Schultz picked up the win, going four innings and striking out three.  Brennan Mueller and Brady Franz came on in relief and kept the Black Sox from threatening.

Plover got two hits from Jack Kelly, Tristan Aldrich and Mason King, respectively.

Brett Ehr doubled for the Sox.

Dylan Trigg suffered the loss on the hill for Plover, going 2.1 innings and allowing nine hits and five earned runs.
