Woodchucks bats silenced in Madison to Mallards

Wausau— The Woodchucks came into tonight’s game at Warner Park in Madison as they looked to cool down the first place Madison Mallards. It was a pitcher’s duel throughout the early innings but the Chucks bats could not get going off Mallards starter Ryan Kutt and the team fell 4-0.

The Mallards led 2-0 after four innings a run in the 2ndinning and a run in the 4thinning.

In the middle innings, The Chucks could not get things going with the bats and the Mallards added three runs to hang on for the 5-0 win.

Chucks starter Brent Headrick kept the game within reach going 5 2/3’s innings allowing three runs and striking out five.

Top Performers 

Woodchucks designated hitter Javier Valdes was the only offensive production going 1-2 with a walk and reaching base twice.

Chucks Starter Brent Headrick had a solid outing going 5 2/3’s innings allowing three runs and striking out five.
