Chippewa Falls– The Plover Black Sox split with Chippewa Falls on Sunday, winning game one in blow out fashion 15-3 and suffering a shut out loss in game two, 5-0.
The Sox had a power surge in the sixth inning of game one, scoring nine runs in the frame to cruise to victory. Plover had nine hits and took advantage of five Chippewa Falls errors.
Cam Stampfl, Derek Baumgartner and Logan Schulfer each had two hits for the Sox.
Stampfl drove in three, while Tristan Aldrich had two RBI and three runs scored.
Austin Beyer picked up the win on the mound.
The Sox ran in to tough sledding in game two as they managed just four hits and did not score a run.
Connor Mrozek was saddled with the loss.
