Weston– At the beginning of the season, SPASH coach Kraig Terpstra identified D.C. Everest as one of the teams SPASH was going to have to watch out for. However, it would appear that SPASH is the team to watch out for after the Panthers completed a season sweep of the Evergreens on Thursday, winning 11-5.
The win gives SPASH a 9-1 record in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with one game to go on the conference schedule against Wausau East.
SPASH took a 7-0 lead after three innings before the Evergreens battled back for three runs in the bottom of the third.
SPASH added two runs in the fourth and the seventh, respectively, to pick up the victory.
“Great team win. I thought all of our guys played well,” said SPASH coach Kraig Terpstra. “We continue to play hit the ball well. We are getting contributions from a lot of players right now.”
SPASH got a significant contribution from Brady Franz, who hit an inside the park home run in the second inning, knocking in three.
Cole Wright ws 3-5 with a double. Jack Kelly also doubled.
Tristan Aldrich, Austin Beyer and Michael Glodosky each had two hits for the Panthers.
Brady Sendelbach was 2-4 with a home run and Sam Nielsen was 2-3 with a double for Everest.
Dylan Trigg picked up the win for SPASH on the mound, while John Breske suffered the loss for the Evergreens.
