Stevens Point– The Pacelli Cardinals ripped through the conference schedule this year with an undefeated record, and a big reason for that accomplishment was the play of senior catcher Paige Hintz.  Hintz was rewarded for her efforts as she was named CWC-South Player of the year.

Hintz and the Cardinals have advanced to the sectional round of the WIAA Division 4 playoffs where they will square off against Marathon on Tuesday, May 29.

Hintz had 25 hits in 40 at bats for a .625 average.

One highlight for Hintz came in the regional final against Athens when she belted a walk off, two-run triple to lift Pacelli to a 10-0 win.

Joining Hintz on the first team are teammates Cailin Firkus, Haley Raflik, Karah Kluck and sister Madison Hintz.

Firkus is a senior, Kluck a junior and Raflik and Hintz are sophomores.

Emily Rink of Rosholt and Cami Newby made the first team as pitchers, as did Erica Pronschinske of Tri-County.

Tri-County was also represented on the first team by Amber Baehman and Alyssa Buechner.
