Wisconsin Rapids— The Rafters and Mid-State Technical College have partnered together to hold Field of Dreams Night on Wednesday, August 8th this summer. The evening will celebrate the famous baseball movie, with corn stalks on the outfield wall and clips from the film displayed on the video board during the night. Following the game against Battle Creek, the first 250 kids 12 and under will receive a fan-designed baseball and all kids will be invited to go out onto the field to play catch with their parent(s).
In conjunction with Field of Dreams Night, the Rafters and Mid-State Technical College are excited to announce a “Design Your Own Baseball” contest to encourage creative artists in the community to come up with a Field of Dreams themed design. Starting today, fans can print a baseball panel design sheet located on either the Rafters website www.raftersbaseball.com or Facebook page. Final designs can be submitted by e-mail to [email protected] or mailed to 521 Lincoln Street, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494 by Monday, April 30th to be entered into the contest. At that time, the top three designs will be chosen to be included in a fan vote on Facebook to determine the final design winner that will be sublimated onto all baseballs given away on August 8th.
