Carley Elmhorst, Colby-– Elmhorst competed in the WIAA Girls Basketball 3 Point Challenge Saturday, and despite scoring four points in the opening round, earns recognition from CWS for having the most supporters in attendance.
Donavon Free, Marathon— Free led all scorers with 26 points as Marathon cruised past Auburndale 78-54 to earn a trip to the sectional finals, where Marathon handled Shiocton to advance to state. Free scored 20 points in the second half, including connecting on three shots from beyond the arc.
Brooke Hopkins, Tri-County— Hopkins came away with a second place finish at the WIAA Girls Basketball 3 Point Challenge, advancing to the finals before bowing to Grafton’s Hannah Belanger 15-14 in the finals.
Heather Pearson, Amherst-– Pearson had 16 points and 11 rebounds in the Division 3 State Title game, a contest Amherst narrowly dropped to Marshall, 63-55.
Hannah Belanger, Grafton— Belanger came through in the clutch at the WIAA Girls Basketball 3 Point Contest Saturday at the Resch Center. Trailing 14-9 and down to her last rack of balls, Belanger made all five shots to earn the championship with a 15-14 win.
