SPASH softball rips East, finishes Valley season 12-0

Wausau– The SPASH Panthers concluded the Wisconsin Valley Conference season with a bang, winning 21-0 against Wausau East on Thursday evening.

SPASH finishes with a 12-0 record in conference play, their second consecutive flawless run through the Valley.

Nine of SPASH’s 18 hits were for extra bases with five doubles and four triples.

Brittney Flugaur had two doubles, while Ally Miklesh, Aubrey Drohner, Halle Pavelski and Sam Saloun tripled.

Flugaur had three hits, as did Drohner and Becky Kurszweski.  Kurszweski and Flugaur each scored four runs, while Rachel Sullivan had four RBI.

Drohner gave up just four hits in five innings of work in the circle to pick up the win.

Overall, SPASH’s record stands at 19-6 and they will play their last regular season game against Luxemburg-Casco on Saturday, May 20 before jumping into tournament action.

SPASH earned the #1 seed in the Chippewa Falls sectional and will take on the winner of Wisconsin Rapids vs. Wausau West on Friday, May 26 at Fire Pro Field in Plover.
