Stevens Point– The SPASH volleyball team got a strong performance from Nicki Hauser and Molly Williams to defeat Mosinee 5-0 on Thursday night.  SPASH dropped the first set 23-25, then rebounded to take the second and third sets.  Mosinee made things interesting when they won the fourth 22-25, but SPASH battled to a 15-11 win in the final set to take the match.

Hauser led SPASH with 22 kills.  Williams added 18.

Dani Brzezinski paced the team with 45 assists.

“We struggled with consistency and unforced errors, but were able to keep focused to get the win,” said SPASH head coach Julie Johnson.  ”Mosinee is a scrappy team that keeps the ball coming back, so executing in transition was key.  In the end, our efforts paid off and in large part to the offensive play by Nicki Hauser and Molly Williams.”
