Wausau– The SPASH boys cross country team dominated the competition in the Wisconsin Valley Conference meet on Saturday. SPASH easily beat Wausau East and DC Everest to claim their 25th straight conference title. SPASH has taken the conference title in 35 of the last 36 years.
SPASH finished the meet with a score of 23. Wausau East finished second with 69 and DC Everest took third with 96.
Wisconsin Rapids placed 6th with a 149.
SPASH’s Michael Larson took first place with a time of 16:19. Evan Hatton placed second with 16:41, followed by Isaiah George in fourth (16:52) and Sam Sheibley in sixth (17:02).
In addition to winning the conference title, SPASH also placed five runners on the all-conference team. Michael Larson, Evan Hatton, Isaiah George, Sam Sheibley and Derek Cruz made the all conference team.
The SPASH girls cross country team also took first place, beating out Wausau West and Wausau East to take the title. SPASH’s Hannah Bielke led SPASH with a time of 15:38.8. Bielke finished second overall. Bielke was followed by MacKenzie Taggatz in fifth place (15:41.8), Autumn Shurbert-Hetzel in eighth place (15:53.3) and Abby Hyland in tenth (15:55.4).
As a team, the SPASH girls scored 42.

WOW! SPASH runners work so hard! I am so happy for all of these guys, and prayers to Anderson who was out Saturday. Blessings to Coach and entire team!
