Pittsville– There is quite an intriguing race shaping up in the Marawood with Auburndale, Stratford and Marathon all locked in a tie for second place at 4-1 behind undefeated Edgar. Auburndale has been stellar this year and took care of business at home against Phillips in week 6. Marathon looks good as well. If Marathon’s defense continues to improve, their offense is explosive. There is no doubt it will be an interesting race to the finish as we hit the home stretch here in October.
Week 6 Results
Edgar 55, Tomahawk 7. Yet another impressive win by the undefeated Wildcats. I think we’re running out of superlatives to describe Edgar this year.
Auburndale 47, Phillips 12. Solid win for Auburndale. Blake Anderson continues to impress and the Apaches’ defense seems to be getting better with each week. Austin Hawkins had three touchdowns in the game.
Stratford 42, Chequamegon 7. Stratford keeps pace with a big victory over Chequamegon.
Marathon 20, Rib Lake/Prentice 6. Rib Lake/Prentice has endured a lot of turmoil this season, so give them credit for hanging in there against one of the premiere teams in the conference.
Pittsville 29, Spencer Columbus 31. Pittsville lost Eric Hahn to injury and had to rely on the arm of David Sojka for much of the game. Sojka did his part, but Spencer Columbus’ running attack was too much for the Panthers. This was a tough non conference draw for Pittsville.

Week 7 Schedule
Auburndale @ Pittsville. Great rivalry game. Both teams really need this game. Pittsville can ill afford to drop any farther beneath the glut of 4-1 teams in the conference. Auburndale, on the other hand, would love to leave the game 5-1 and keep the pressure up on Edgar. This should be a great game.
Chequamegon @ Phillips. Both teams are winless so far this year. Phillips suited up only 17 players in the Auburndale game played week 6. Expect both teams to be fired up for this one.
Edgar @ Marathon. For the last two years, Marathon has been knocking on the door of greatness in the Marawood. In their first stiff test of the year, Marathon lost to Stratford. Now, with Edgar coming to town, Marathon has a chance to make a statement.
Rib Lake/Prentice @ Stratford. This is a really tough spot for the Pirates. Stratford is playing well, but they are sure to get the Pirates’ best shot.
Tomahawk @ Stanley Boyd. Tomahawk just can’t seem to catch a break. This is a tough non-conference game against 6-0 Stanley Boyd.
