What: Pacelli at Wild Rose When: 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 19 Records: Pacelli 4-4 overall; Wild Rose 6-2 overall
Three Things To Watch
Pacelli’s Jesse Raczek: Raczek has been an impact for the Cardinals all season, but has really come into his own during the home stretch. He’s coming off back-to-back big games, including the regular season finale where he rushed for 264 yards and five touchdowns.
The Cardinals Rushing Defense: The Pacelli defense has often made an appearance as something to watch and that will once again be the case Friday night. Fact is, that the Cardinals defense has struggled against the run this season, allowing 2,255 yards of total offense to conference opponents, almost 1,600 of which were on the ground. It’s not pretty, but the numbers don’t lie. Pacelli will need to keep Wild Rose in check on the ground if they are to have success.
A Quick Start: It’s hard to deny that this is a Pacelli team reaching its peak at a prime point of the season. If the Cardinals can get off to a fast start and establish momentum early, they will be a tough team to beat.
By The Numbers
72.6: Percent of Pacelli’s points in conference games that have been accounted for through the combined efforts of Raczek and Mike Fuller.
4: Different Cardinals have hauled in an interception in a conference game this season. Isaac Elliott and Chris Poeschel each lead the way with two.
851: Rushing yards by Raczek in CWC-8 play, a total that placed him second among league rushers.
148: Receiving yards by Poeschel in league games, the eighth highest total in the conference.
