Stevens Point– The football regular season in the CWC-8 came to a thrilling conclusion on Friday night. Amherst rolled to an 8-0 season and finishes as conference champions. Meanwhile, Pacelli came up with a huge victory and vaulted themselves into the playoffs after a rough start to the season. Shiocton continues to overpower opponents with their impressive running game. Let’s take a look at how things finished up in the conference.
Week 8 Results
Amherst 42, Bonduel 14. This was another stellar performance by the Falcons. Chris Zblewski passed for 115 yards and rushed for 138 to lead Amherst. The Falcons rolled up 138 total rushing yards against the Bears. With their undefeated record, the Falcons win the CWC-8 crown and look forward to their first playoff game against Northern Elite on Saturday at 1pm.
Shiocton 49, Iola-Scandinavia 0. Shiocton got a strong performance on the ground, piling up 282 rushing yards. The only blemish on Shiocton’s record was a loss to Amherst earlier this season. Shiocton has a lot of momentum heading into their playoff game against Reedsville on Friday night.
Manawa 42, Weyauwega-Fremont 0. Manawa got 174 rushing yards from Logan Haas and 101 receiving from Wesley Krauss. Manawa limited Weyauwega-Fremont to 102 total yards. Manawa will face off against first round playoff opponent Ozaukee in Manawa on Friday night.
Pacelli 62, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 15. The Cardinals seem to have caught lightning in the bottle. Jesse Raczek rushed for an astounding 264 yards and scored five touchdowns for Pacelli. Meanwhile, credit the Cardinals’ defense for shutting down a talented Wittenberg-Birnamwood offense. Pacelli will travel to Wild Rose on Friday night for the first round of the playoffs.
