Wisconsin Rapids– The Wisconsin Rapids Red Raiders soccer team defeated Wausau West in a Wisconsin Valley Conference soccer match on Tuesday night in Wisconsin Rapids. Rapids scored all three goals early in the contest and their stingy defense limited the Warriors’ scoring opportunities and ultimately kept West from finding the back of the net.
Zack Loken scored Rapids first goal. Benbow knocked home Rapids second goal, and the final score of the game came from John Larson. All three goals were scored in the first half.
Goalkeeper Kevin Bancek had six saves for Rapids.
“We played a really good game, we did everything we planned on doing and got a huge win,” said Matt Hepp. “Both offense and defense executed nicely and hopefully we can take this game play into our last three conference games.”
With the win, Rapids improves to 8-6-2 overall, while Wausau West falls to 4-9-4.
