Stevens Point– The Pacelli Cardinals volleyball got of to a great start last week at a tournament in which they defeated Aquinas, Assumption, Columbus, McDonell and Newman. The Cardinals’ only loss came at the hands of Regis.
“After a slow start and lossing the first match the girls turned it around and won the next 5 matches,” said Pacelli’s Ray Gutowski. “This was our first matches for the season and as the day went on our girls play improved. I was very pleased with our defensive play and that is something we our making an effort to be very good at. As a whole I think our girls played well together at the tournament.”
Pacelli begins CWC-8 action this week as they take on Manawa on September 4.
