Amherst– The Amherst Falcons defeated Pacelli on Friday night by the score of 38-0. For Pacelli, it was their first loss of the season after they got out of the gates strong with a win over La Crosse Aquinas last week.
With the win, Amherst improves to 2-0, while Pacelli falls to 1-1.
“It was a rough game for us tonight,” said Pacelli head coach Steve Raczek. ”Amherst has a nice ball club. When they have a QB like Zblewski, it makes it tough to keep him in check. We struggled again this week up front and without our running game it makes it really difficult to pass.
Amherst’s defense showed up big, limiting the Cardinals both on the ground and through the air.
“We will need to take a close look at what we are doing and who is starting for the upcoming game next week against Manawa,” Raczek said.
Pacelli stats:
Pacelli rushing: Fuller – 10 attempts, 10 yards; Raczek – 14 attempts, 17 yards; Rogers – 5 attempts, 6 yards; Kluck – 4 attempts, -6 yards
Pacelli passing: Kluck – 18 attempts, 1 completions, 7 yards, 0 tds, 3 int
