Wisconsin Rapids–The CWS heat lamp is on, turned to level 10, and we aimed it right at Zach Bassuener.

CWS: What classes are you taking this year at Lincoln?

Zach: A lot of classes that I find interesting and that will help me in the future with the field that I am looking to study in college.

CWS: What is your favorite class and why?

Zach: American Dream. It has taught me a lot about America’s past, and also helps me with my writing skills.

CWS: Who is/was your favorite teacher?

Zach: My all time favorite is Mr. Kelly, and right now it is Mr. Schmidt.

CWS: What are your plans after high school?

Zach: To go to college and play college football!

CWS: Who is the best athlete in your family?

Zach: We are all athletic, but right now I have to say it is me, hands down.

CWS: How did you get the nickname Buzz/Buzzy?

Zach: Well my Dad originally had the nickname so I kind of got it from him, but a girl gave it to me in 6th grade when I shaved my head, and it has stuck ever since.

CWS: If you could be anyone in history, who would it be?

Zach: Chuck Cecil. He was insane on the field.(Good call, I liked Gary Fencik)

CWS: What sports have you played in your young career?

Zach: Basketball, football, track, and swimming. My favorite is most certainly football.

CWS: If you were granted one wish, what would it be?

Zach: The ability to fly!

CWS: Last but not least…pancakes or waffles?

Zach: Ooooh, I have to choose pancakes.

Zach Bassuener notes: Zach loves it when you mistakenly call him Craig… Zach enjoys the music by Grillz… Zach hopes to someday have his own animated character on the show Family Guy.
