Let’s hope that all the Packers can make it off the field tomorrow night without injury. I know we’re not the only ones who think the pre season drags on too long. I know it is supposedly a revenue issue, but why can’t the NFL cut the pre season back to, say, three games. As much revenue as they think they’re going to lose, how much worse is it for the league to expose its star players to potentially serious injuries in meaningless games.

The waiver deadline for MLB and trades is Augusat 31st. I expect to see some action. A lot of teams are calling the Brewers about Shaun Marcum. You can not use a player in the post season, if you have not aquired him before the Agust 31st deadline. Jerry Hairston of the Mets did not clear waivers yesterday as an undisclosed team “picked” him with the sole intent of blocking a trade.
