Thursday results:

SPASH soccer vs. Rapids ends in 1-1 tie.  James McDonald scored SPASH’s goal, while David Fickey scored Rapids’ goal.  SPASH had 16 shots to Rapids’ 22.

SPASH volleyball went 3-1 in tournament action at SPASH Thursday.

Wisconsin Rapids swimming travels to the Eau Claire North Relays, start time 12:30pm.

Assumption volleyball travels to the Diocese meet(McDonell), start time 9:00am.

Wisconsin Rapids golf hosts a 9 hole ryder cup, start time 4:30pm.

Other stuff:

Do not look now but John Axford is back. Hope he sticks around for a while.

Shaun Marcum returns to the rotation Saturday for the Crew.

Ryan Braun took over the league lead in extra base hits with 70. Second place? Aramis Ramirez with 69. I do feel the need to put an asterisk next to any Braun record.

The Brewers have committed only 71 errors good for third lowest in the NL.

The personal foul called on the Bengals Taylor May after his clean legal hit on the Pack’s Tom Crabtree was insane. Just put flags on all the offensive “skill” positions and be done with it.

Aaron Rodgers looked good, enough said.

Cedric Benson worries me, and should you. He has a tough time pass blocking and that could tip defense’s on the play call when he is in the game.
