Pittsville loses 10-3 to Coleman in the WIAA State Semifinal game.  Congratulations to Pittsville on a great season.

Moving to the bottom of the seventh.  Pittsville has three outs left to work with.

We go to the seventh.  Pittsville strands the bases loaded again.  Score still 10-3 Coleman.

Coleman scores their 10th run on an RBI single.  Score now 10-3.  Still only one out in sixth.

Mitch Mergener 2RBI single.  Coleman now up 3-9.  Andy Fox to come on in relief of Ladick.  Still in 6th.

Mike Mergener RBI single scores Champagne.  7-3 Coleman.

Mitch Champagne with an RBI gap shot gives Coleman a 6-3 lead now.  We’re still in the sixth.  Champagne is a very good hitter.

Pittsville goes down in order in the bottom of the fifth.  Score stands at 5-3 Coleman.

Ladick works around a couple of walks, no damage done by Coleman’s offense in the top of the fifth.  Ladick made a nice pickoff move to record the first out of the inning.  Pittsville coming up to bat in the bottom of the fifth now.

Downs has two hits and two stolen bases in the game.  Andy Fox with a textbook sac bunt to put Downs and Ladick in scoring position with one out.  Downs scores on fielder’s choice.  Pittsville now down 3-5.  Moving to the fifth inning.

Ladick is sharp on the mound.  He’s retired 6 in a row now.  Pittsville to come to the plate in the bottom of the fourth after a 1-2-3 top of the inning.  Score remains 5-2 Coleman.

Pittsville strands two more.  Unofficially, Pittsville has stranded 7 runners through three innings.  Coleman due up in the top of the fourth.  Game still 5-2 Coleman.

To the third we go.  Pittsville strands two runners in bottom of second.  Score is 2-5 Coleman.

Downs scores on a throwing error, now 2-5 Coleman.

Chris Downs RBI single scores Olie Voight.  Score now 5-1 still in the second inning.  That was a nice two-out hit by Downs.

Downs with a really nice play cutting down a runner at home to save a run.  Great tag by Andy Fox at home plate.

RBI single for Cougars.  Now 5-0 Coleman.  Sawyer Ladick coming on in relief of Downs.  Downs moves to shortstop.
